Terms of Use

Welcome to Sumbox (算盒 in Chinese; the “App”). The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your use of the App is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”). These Terms of Use supplement the Apple Standard EULA; in the event of any conflict between them, the Apple Standard EULA prevails.

1. The Service

The App provides a basic and scientific calculator, currency and unit conversion, Chinese family titles, and other everyday and developer tools. All calculation tools are free to use, require no account, and contain no advertising.

The “Mint” and “Clear Contrast” themes are free for as long as the App is offered; all other themes can be previewed free of charge and unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase.

2. In-App Purchases

• “Unlock All Themes” is a non-consumable item: a single purchase remains valid indefinitely, includes themes added in the future, and never renews automatically.
• The price is the amount displayed on the App Store purchase page and is charged by Apple according to your region.
• Family Sharing is supported: members of the same Family Sharing group can use the purchased item.
• After changing devices or reinstalling the App, you can restore your purchase in “Settings → Restore Purchases” using the Apple Account with which it was made.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies and can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. Once a refund is completed, the paid themes are no longer available and the App automatically switches back to a free theme; your history is not affected.
• We do not sell or unlock paid content through any channel other than the App Store.

3. Results Are for Reference Only

• We make every effort to ensure that calculations are accurate, but we make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any result; please verify results independently whenever they matter.
• Exchange rates are reference rates aggregated from public sources such as central banks. They are neither the RMB central parity rates published by the People’s Bank of China nor the real-time transaction rates of banks or payment platforms; actual exchanges are subject to the rates quoted by your bank or platform.
• Results of financial tools such as mortgage, compound interest, and installment calculations are based on the parameters you enter and on simplified assumptions. They do not constitute a loan offer or investment or financial advice; the contracts and statements of financial institutions prevail.
• Income tax calculations are estimates based on the current China mainland rules and the parameters you enter, are provided for reference only and do not constitute tax advice; the tax authorities and the Individual Income Tax app prevail.
• Health-related results such as BMI are arithmetic values only and do not constitute a medical diagnosis; if you have any health concerns, please consult a doctor or other qualified professional.
• Chinese family titles vary by region and family custom, and the results are for reference only.

4. Acceptable Use

Please use the App lawfully and reasonably. You may not reverse engineer, crack, or tamper with the App, or use the App for any unlawful activity.

5. Intellectual Property

The App’s interface design, themes, icons, and text content are owned by us. Open-source components used in the App are subject to their respective open-source licenses; see “Settings → Open Source Licenses” for details. Apple and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the App (including calculation errors, interruptions of the exchange rate service, and loss of data). Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

7. Changes and Termination

We may update these Terms of Use to reflect changes to the App’s features or to laws and regulations, and will publish any update in the App and on our website. You may stop using and delete the App at any time.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding its conflict of laws rules); where the laws of your place of residence afford consumers greater protection, those provisions apply.
